The Suzuki Ignis Forest (£15,999 on the road) is a mini sized and priced SUV, ideal for urban driving and parking as well as for the country lanes of Herefordshire. It has a raised driving position, higher ground clearance than a regular car and Suzuki’s ‘allgrip’ four-wheel drive, which gives enhanced grip and hill descent control.
The Ignis Forest is the top of the range with DAB, Sat Nav and the dash mounted touchscreen includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay – as all new cars should ! The Ignis Forest also comes with added extras including a Slick Roof Rack, rugged bumpers, flexible mud guards, stylish spoiler and tinted wind deflectors – all worth over £850.
The economical engine needs revving to keep with / ahead of, the traffic on the A49 – but even so I managed an average of 55mpg, which is excellent for a 4WD around Herefordshire. The Ignis has a rather boxy shape to it – that and the raised height add to its sturdy look, and yet, because of its size, the Ignis is very easy to manoeuvre and park. Internal space is surprising for a vehicle with such a small footprint – there’s room for a case or a couple of soft bags in the boot. Space in the rear seats is fine for a tall adult, or if carrying small children then the rear seats can be slid forward to provide extra boot space. Pick the Suzuki Ignis Forest for a car for all of the roads and seasons in Herefordshire !
